One comment is worth a hundred faves!

that may be a slight exaggeration

These titles are getting better and better aren't they

Once again drawn in Copics. I think I went overboard with the shading here and there but overall I'm very pleased.
Also drawn freehand, kind of. I didn't use pencil to sketch it out but jumped straight in with the pen.

Personally I think it's one of Snap's eyes, as I had him in mind whilst drawing this.
Which means it's a male eye. Does it look so? I think that around Christmas I somehow magically figured out how to put lashes on male eyes without it looking too feminine, but it may just be me that thinks that.
Snap, you have beautiful eyes. Thank you.

EDIT: I hope that watermark isn't in the way too much. Let me know if it is.

More adventures in Copics:

Drawn with a Copic multiliner pen and colored with Copic markers N0-N8.
Art and character are mine.

Gah!! So beautiful!! I want to be able to draw eyes like that!! (Where's that tutorial!?)

I'm most jelly of your eyelashes! In a cartoonist's point of view, I think the lashes look rather gender neutral in this pic. Because you haven't accentuated the lashes, it's not an obvious female. (I said "gender neutral" because, in cartoons, just seeing the lashes usually makes it female)

Yep, I say that you've come really close to portraying a realistic looking eye, without completely leaving the cartoony realm. Great work!

(I didn't put this in critiques because I only covered the lashes, and not every little detail)

Thank you so much!! I'm so sorry, I kind of gave up on it but now that you've mentioned it I'll probably pull it out sometime and finish. Actually, I think I'll scrap the one I have (it's digital) and make a traditional one because it'll be easier and faster. Thank you very much for mentioning it; in the midst of writing this sentence I've been inspired anew to work on it. ^^

Oh, good! It's all right if they're gender neutral, as long as they don't look female I consider it an accomplishment.

Cartoony? I'm not offended in any way of course, but out of curiosity what aspects of this are cartoony? I would figure it out myself, but I assume another viewer that also happens to be a cartoon artist would know better. ^^
Personally I think the parts that make it more realistic are the inclusion of tear ducts and the third eyelid, and the imperfection of the lashes.

You would've put this in Critiques? Oh yay~ I like your comment even more now that it's apparently almost critique status.

In fact, to complete the idea:
The artist thought this was FAIR

Yay!! :la: :iconpresentsplz:

You're almost boarder line with cartoony and realism. The more detail that is placed into a piece, the more real it becomes. Cartoons are, essentially, lack of detail.

With that in mind: your eyelashes, eyebrows, and tear ducks are very real looking.

The iris and lack of detail on the skin between the brow and eye, are still holding on to cartoony. The iris especially, is lacking the detail that we would see if we looked at a real eye.

It's all about details. The more you put in, the more real the image gets, ya see?

Lol! :XD:
My first critique! Yay!

Ah, makes sense.. thanks! And thank you for pointing out the bit about iris detail. I always forget I'm simplifying the way irises actually look; I should probably pull up a ref or two and try to draw a super-realistic iris someday.

Yay! My first recieved critique! x3
